White Christmas (in Texas?!)

For the first time since 1898, Southlake received measurable snow on Christmas Eve (3 inches). That's not a lot by Utah standards, but combined with 30-40 mph winds, it created blizzard conditions and shut the roads down here. The whole family ended up stranded at the Bastian parent's home, so it was fun to have a massive sleepover on Christmas Eve.

All of the nieces and nephews got to call Santa on the phone and speak to him (our brother-in-law Mike can do a mean Ho-Ho-Ho). Jacob has also been able to spend some time with two of his cousins, Tanner (10 days younger) and Sydney (5 months older).

Jacob decided that sleep was more important than Christmas presents, so he took a quick nap right before we opened presents. Luckily, he woke up just in time to open his first Christmas present.

We have enjoyed being with family, and miss those with whom we can't spend time. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you! Jacob is so adorable. So sad that I won't be there for your shower! I will be there in spirit!
